Thank you to the many residents who shared my concerns and gave me their support, electing me to the Board of the East Williston Union Free School District.

To all those who helped in my campaign, working long hours and putting their personal lives on temporary hold, a heartfelt thank you. NO words can express the deep gratitude I feel for each and every one of you. I would also like to thank my supporters for sustaining the highest level of campaign ethics - you made me extremely proud.

And to the volunteers' spouses and children - I apologize for all the quick and/or late dinners you had to cope with - and extend a very special thank you from the entire Kushner family to your families.

On May 18 approximately 50 percent of the eligible voters in our school district cast their ballots in our school election. Compared to media reports that, Island-wide, only 14 percent of eligible voters actually voted, our turnout highlights the concern and devotion our community has for the education of our children. I applaud everyone who made this effort.

We must now unite for this common cause - the children of our community. I am committed to this cause, and ask for your united support.
