The world reacted in horror to the shooting spree in which two Colorado students took the lives of 14 classmates and one teacher at Columbine High School. The Mineola Athletic Association held its 44th Annual Parade on Saturday, April 17. It was led by President Fred Wachter and had special guests Mayor John Colbert, Trustees Warren Brinker, Maryanne Warnecke, Louis Santosus and Betty Conlon and Assemblywoman Maureen O'Connell. The Mineola High School Marching Band performed superbly along the parade route and all of the teams were strongly represented by the baseball, softball and soccer players as well as by the cheerleaders.
