Nassau County Comptroller Fred Parola addressed the Community Liaison Committee of Manhasset on Friday, Feb. 19, at North Hills Village Hall. After a few introductory remarks, Comptroller Parola told his audience that the Nassau County budget "predicted a zero deficit. There could be a real deficit of $150 million. Well, it is finally here. Friday night at 7 p.m., "The Bigger Event" will come to Mineola High School. For those of you who missed last year's "Big Event," the Mineola Community has been challenged to a series of basketball games by former (and possibly current) NFL and NBA players. Last year we saw all who attended treated to an evening of fun, and also spirited competition, as the Mineola School Community came together to meet the challenge of the professional athletes.
