I was under the mistaken impression that hallucinogenic drugs were illegal. But now that I see the completed Mineola LIRR bridge, I can confidently go buy some at the Department of Transportation office responsible for the design and execution (no pun intended, but wait until it snows) of that ill-conceived and worse-constructed disaster-in-waiting.

Who is responsible (with Timothy Leary supposedly dead) for designing a three-lane bridge to replace a four-lane bridge; one which arcs so high as to preclude vision of the road ahead; and one which (incredibly) turns to the right just as abruptly as it elevates! Not only can a driver not see over the crest of the bridge, but cannot see around the corner either! A triumph of design! Not to mention the turn lane set up so that the hordes of people going into Winthrop Hospital can back up directly into the oncoming traffic, which can't see them to begin with!

If my kids had designed this, it would have been a laugh. As it is, this is not a laughing matter. Who is responsible for this and why did the village allow this to happen? Wait. Now that the bad weather is upon us, the accidents on the bridge will be wholesale. Do you know any commercial real estate in the area so I can set up a towing service and body shop? It should be a money-maker. Mineola LIRR bridge is a horror.
