There is an 11-year-old boy whose father is a member of the New Hyde Park Fire Department, who has leukemia for a second time. A bone marrow transplant, which is extremely expensive is needed.
Three members of the Mineola Fire Department are to be commended for their efforts in raising in excess of $2,300.
The names of these caring persons are: John Kessler, Mark Swensen and John Wheeler.
I heartitly agree with Chief Walter Langer when he stated "I am proud of these fine young people and commend them for their caring for a family in need."
If you would like to assist this family, please contact my office and I will forward all contributions to the family.
