  • SPORTS: Chaminade Students Win World Serie

    On Aug. 2, three baseball players from Chaminade High School won an unprecedented sixth straight National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series, by defeating the Gambrills, Maryland Athletics 6-0. Held in Northville, Michigan, the NABF World Series showcases some of the best talent in high school baseball today. Mineola residents Mikes Hoffmann and Mario Matulich, Jr., as well as Massapequa resident Jim Kelly were the Chaminade students who helped win the title as members of the Bayside Yankees Junior Americans Baseball Club.
