Harold E. Rhodes, formerly of Mineola, died on July 15, 1998. Husband of the late Lillian C. Father of Thomas, James and Robert. Brother of Charles. Arrangements were made by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Williston Park. Memorial and religious services. Mary L. Valentino, 65, of Mineola, died on Aug. 2, 1998. She was born in Stamford, CT, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Avignone. At 28 she met and married James Valentino then of Brooklyn. After living in Queens for 10 years, Mary and James resided in Mineola and have lived there since. She is survived by husband James; sons, Mark of North Babylon and Thomas of Mineola. Grandmother of Mark Jr. and mother-in-law of Maryann. Arrangements were made by the Cassidy Funeral Home, Mineola. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
