Pool's Out for Summer...Not So Fast
With an islandwide shortage of lifeguards and a barrage of criticism being launched at community pools that are staying open with a minimal staff, there was a fear that the Mineola Pool would have to drastically shorten its hours as its lifeguards returned to their respective schools. However, thanks to the tireless efforts of pool directors Kyle Teemsma and Debbie Faller the effect will not be as severe as first anticipated.

Once Upon a Time in Mineola
Once upon a time, like in a fairy tale, a man and a woman fell in love. Not unlike a fairy tale the happy ending could not come before a story had been told, a story that crossed an ocean and lasted nearly half a century. Though separated by seas and by time, the couple's love remained and now in a gazebo in a Mineola park, the impossible has become possible as that love was realized in marriage.
