Chip and Joyce Chippendale, formerly of Andrews Road, are happy in their new home in Virginia. Their older son Bruce married a girl from Russia, Svetlana, and they live in Pasadena, CA where he works for Jet Propulsion Labs. We also learned that Grace Lutheran School in Malverne has established the "Joyce Chippendale Award" to be given to a dedicated first-grade student. Joyce is a retired teacher.

At a recent public Pool Board meeting Jim Bruno's problem was discussed. Jim, who is handicapped, must use the ramp by the pump house and then maneuver his way around the lounge chairs which often block his path if he wants to go to the locker rooms. The board is planning a second ramp in a more accessible location. The public likes the guest plan where one can buy six admissions for $18. It was noted that the swim lanes for laps are being kept clear, although some noted that the entrances to the stairs are often blocked. Some people say the water is too warm and others say it is too cold. The directors hope to keep the temperature between 78 and 80 degrees at all times. Those attending the meeting included Paul Rubin, Marilyn Mott, Marie Brewer, Mark Fidler, Donna Solosky, Patricia Kessler, Anne Frey, Eileen Canning, Tom and Virginia Spae and Gabriella Fischer.
