The Mineola Athletic Association's 10th annual soccer camp, with instructors provided by NOGA, will be held the week of Aug. 3 to 7 at Wilson Park. Sessions for boys and girls 5 to 15 years old will be held daily from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $85. Checks will be accepted on the day the camp begins, but MAA travel soccer coordinator Dolores Jose asks that anyone wishing to attend please call her at 742-7798 so she knows how many children in each age group plan to participate.

At the July 16 MAA meeting, President Fred Wachter shared information on the village's planned refurbishing of our Willis Avenue Little League baseball complex. Copies of the plans are available at village hall. Work is expected to take place between September and April. The executive board wishes to thank all village officials involved in this project.

The matter of a baseball manager doing his own articles on his major division team instead of passing information through MAA publicity chairman Jim Smith was discussed. The executive board decided that Smith will handle all publicity for fall soccer programs and that the baseball situation will be discussed over winter. One possibility: the baseball manager involved might not be approved, as MAA by-laws require, to manage a team in our league next season.
