The major division all-stars won two games and lost two in the District 29 baseball tournament for 11 and 12-year-olds. The team was co-managed by Jerry Jetter and Jim Francis, assisted by Sid Medlock. It lost 8-7 to Hempstead, beat Elmont North 6-3 and Stewart Manor 8-1 and lost to Franklin Square 4-3.

Vito Errico led all MAA hitters, going 5 for 8 for a .625 average. Danny Medlock was 4 for 7 (.571). Matt Jetter and Andrew Montanez each were 4 for 10 (.400). Pitchers Chris Murphy and Chris Sallie each were 1-1, combining for 31 strikeouts and issuing seven walks. Murphy hit MAA's only home run. His four RBI's tied Errico and Montanez for the team tournament lead. Other members of the team were Tom Niemczyk, Brendan Canavan, Peter Smith, Derek Webber, Kevin Cusker, Ben Volino and Mike DeStefano.

In the win over Elmont North, Montanez drove in two runs and scored one, Jetter had two hits and scord twice and Medlock had a hit and scored the other two runs. Sallie pitched a six-hitter, striking out six and walking one.

Against Stewart Manor, Murphy faced only 21 batters, striking out six and allowing five hits. He also hit a two-run homer over the right field fence in the first inning. Webber had two hits and scored twice. Medlock had a double and a walk and scored twice. And Errico went three-for-four and drove in three runs.

In its elimination game, Murphy, Smith and Sallie drove in a run each in the top of the first but the MAA mustered only two hits over the last five innings. Four MAA errors contributed to three unearned runs, including two in the bottom of the fifth. Fifteen of Mineola's last 17 batters made out. Mineola was the defending District 29 champion.
