The recent village elections left us with mixed feelings. We realize that the Village Party candidates Warren Brinker, Maryann Warnecke and Judge John O'Shea could point to a solid record of accomplishments. We have a new pool, a new village hall, and a revamped beautiful Memorial Park. These improvements carried the day for them. We were glad, however, that the hometown party made it very close with Joe Galante losing by just 68 votes out of all the thousands that were cast. Last year their candidate lost to Mayor John Colbert by only 13 votes. We need a strong two-party system. A viable Hometown Party assures us of having good government.
