Charles Water's Hwang Karate Studio received a very special invitation from Adam Fromowitz. Adam is a student at Barnum Woods Elementary School in East Meadow as well as a student at Master Charles Water's Hwang Karate Studio in Williston Park. Adam asked Master Water to come to his school as part of "Show and Tell."
Master Water concentrated on the mental disciplines that have evolved within the Martial Arts throughout the years. The martial arts builds confidence and teaches respect. Students learned how to concentrate and focus. One child wrote, "Dear Master Water, I want to thank you very much for everything. My mom wants to thank you because when I went home I respect my sister now."
Adam has been training with Water for four years and is well on his way to his goal of Black Belt. Adam also showed his courage and confidence as he helped teach the class the true meaning of the Martial Arts.
Water spent 40 minutes with these enthusiastic fourth graders who were filled with questions. The children engaged in exercises designed to strengthen their bodies and lengthen their attention spans. The children learned that bowing shows respect and that standing at attention demonstrates concentration. They also learned that sitting up straight is the proper way to focus on your school work and listen to your teacher.
Special thanks to Mrs. Brice, Mrs. Fromowitz, Adam Fromowitz and the entire class for their enthusiasm and kind letters.
