Theodore Dobensky, of Williston Park, died on Feb. 6, 1998. Army veteran of WWII serving as a battlefield medic in France with the 100th Inf. Div. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor and the Purple Heart. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Uncle of two nephews. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral private. Selwyn Marlowe, 73, of Mineola, died recently. He was a jazz trumpet virtuoso. Father of Elizabeth and Jane. Grandfather of Jackson and Katie. Graveside service at Beth Israel Cemetery. Edmund G. Fischer, formerly of Mineola, died on Feb. 9, 1998. Retired from FDNY. Veteran WWII, US Navy Submarine Service, USS Quillback (SS 424). Husband of the late Evelyn. Father of the late Robert Fischer and Janet E. Morris. Father-in-law of Barbara and Ed. Grandfather of Meg, Derek, Katie and Elizabeth. Arrangements were made by the Cassidy Funeral Home, Mineola. Prayer service. Interment LI National Cemetery.
