Five hundred runners and walkers participated. The top Mineola finishers for the 5K event were:
- Male Runner - Skip Murphy
- Female Runner - Lesli Hiller
- Male Walker - Russell Cruake
- Female Walker - Ivy Goldbaum
The top male runner for the 5K was Max Crispi with a time of 16:32 and the top female runner was Samantha Desposito with 19:47.
The Fun Run was won by Gerard Merkill with a time of 5:24.
The top male finishers for 8 and under were Craig Hayes, Michael Lacur and Andrew Leno.
The top female finishers for 8 and under were April Leyendecker, Julie Kerner and Julie Frey.
The top male finishers for the 9-12 group were Doug Carroll, Michael Gerbe and Michael Donato. Top female finishers for the 9-12 group were Maryann Georgeou and Jessica Sacks.
The top male finishers for the 13 and over group included Gerard Meskill and Ross Fairgrieve. The top female finishers for the 13 and over group included Christie Dziorny, Robbin Kalt and Barbara Stagnari.
The Mineola Red Heat Boys Under-12 Travel Soccer Team remained unbeaten at 7-0 in the Long Island Junior Soccer League with victories over College Point (5-3) and Little Neck (5-1) Nov. 15-16. Both games were played on soggy fields in frigid weather.
Peter Marson had five goals and an assist in the two games, bringing his season's total to 15 goals, eight assists. The Red Heat is 11-1 overall, outscoring its opponents over the weekend, 34-13. Chris Sallie scored twice for the Red Heat. Danny Medlock, Robert Bridges and Jimmy Francis scored the other goals.
Goalie Brendan Canavan dove to his right to deny a College Point penalty kick midway through the second half with Mineola ahead, 5-3. Canavan and Matt Shanahan split the Little Neck game in goal. The Red Heat defense played well in both games-sweeper Peter Smith, stoppers Bridges and Vito Errico, and fullbacks Ramon Valente, Medlock, Shanahan and John Reedy. Midfielder Julio Gauto set up two Marson goals against College Point. Chris McNeely played well in each game as a reserve midfielder.
