Boy Scout Troop 45 of Mineola will be collecting food for the poor. Donations may be dropped off at our Weekly Scout meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 25 between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Mineola at First and Main Streets (across from the post office).

The Mineola High School Class of 1987 will be celebrating its 10-year reunion at the New Hyde Park Inn (Jericho Tpke. - New Hyde Park) on Saturday, Nov. 29. The cost is $60 per person. If you haven't received a notice of the reunion in the mail, or would like to contact the committee to participate in planning, please contact either Constantine Malaxos (742-2930) or Bonnie L. The Mineola Choral Society is celebrating its 50th musical year starting in September. We are looking for former members, accompanists and directors for our gala reunion in May 1998. Please contact Beth Nilsen at (718) 470-1757 for more information.

1997 Annual Christmas Fair of the Hillside United Methodist Church, 2801 Hillside Ave., New Hyde Park between (Marcus and Herricks) will be held on Friday, Nov. 21 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Make reservations by Nov. 19 for the ham dinner that will be available on Friday.

The MAA's Mineola Reds Travel Baseball team is looking for players interested in playing Federation Amateur Baseball. This team will play approximately 40 games starting June 1. We Are Mineola Gala Dinner

The "We Are Mineola Gala Dinner" will be held at the Jericho Terrace from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. A full Thanksgiving Dinner will be served. There will be a 19 piece band with dancing and the promise of a most enjoyable evening. Safety Worksop

The Mineola District Council of PTAs will hold the second workshop on safety related issues for girls grades six to eight. Officer Susan Haley of Nassau County Community Projects Bureau will conduct this informative workshop at Mineola Middle School, 200 Emory Road starting at 7:30 p.m. Parents and guardians are requested to attend and participate so the girls and parents can share and discuss the information at home.

Magical Marketplace

Cathedral Women, Cathedral of the Incarnation are sponsoring a Magical Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Cathedral House, 50 Cathedral Ave. in Garden City. There will be traditional crafts, "white elephants," Teddy Bears in all manner of dress, soft dolls, doll houses and more. The public is invited.

Thanksgiving Dance

The Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, Inc. is pleased to announce their annual Thanksgiving Dance to be held at the Irish Center, 297 Willis Ave. in Mineola at 9:30 p.m. There is a $10 donation. The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, on the corner of Jefferson and Willis Avenues in Mineola will have a Holiday market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving and Christmas items made by the members will be on sale at a Country Kitchen, Christmas Dove Gift Shop, various booths and more. 50s Doo Wop Dance and Fund Raiser

The Knights of Columbus present Tony Anthony's 50s Doo Wop Dance and Show Fund Raiser at 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 186 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. The show features the Capris and MoonLight Serenade. Proceeds will be donated to Heartsong Inc. Music & Art Therapy Program for Children with Disabilities. Donations are $18 per ticket. "Vitamins: Fact vs Fiction," one of the free monthly programs in the health Update for Seniors and Their Families series will be presented by Winthrop-University Hospital's Division of Geriatrics and RISE (Referral, Information and Support-services for the Elderly).
