Boy Scout Troop 45 of Mineola will be collecting food for the poor. Donations may be dropped off at our Weekly Scout meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 25 between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Mineola at First and Main Streets (across from the post office).
The Mineola High School Class of 1987 will be celebrating its 10-year reunion at the New Hyde Park Inn (Jericho Tpke. - New Hyde Park) on Saturday, Nov. 29. The cost is $60 per person. 1997 Annual Christmas Fair of the Hillside United Methodist Church, 2801 Hillside Ave., New Hyde Park between (Marcus and Herricks) will be held on Friday, Nov. 21 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Make reservations by Nov. 19 for the ham dinner that will be available on Friday.
The Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council #2502 will be conducting a membership drive - Jubilee 2000 at all Masses at Corpus Christi Church during the weekend of Nov. 15 and 16. Catholic men ages 18 and older are eligible to become members of this 115-year-old Catholic benevolent and fraternal organization. Members will be available at each Mass to provide literature describing council activities and the benefits of being a member.
The MAA's Mineola Reds Travel Baseball team is looking for players interested in playing Federation Amateur Baseball. This team will play approximately 40 games starting June 1. Williston Park Mayor Tom Muldoon has announced that Inspector Paul Tully, commanding officer of the Third Precinct, will attend a follow-up meeting at Msgr. Kirwin Hall, located in St. Aidan's School, Willis Ave. and Pembroke Street at 7:30 p.m. Discussion of communication lines will take place. All concerned are encouraged to attend.
