On Sunday, July 25, The Lustgarten Foundation will hold its 10th annual Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk at Nassau County Community College, Garden City.
Among those participating will be Emily Smith, a 15-year-old Massapequa teen who has participated in the walk for four years and recently filmed her own PSA to raise awareness for the cause.
In its 10-year history, the walk has grown to more than 4,000 participants and raised more than $6.2 million for research. The money raised goes to advancing research aimed at early detection methods, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer.
