Two soon-to-be juniors at Massapequa High School with outstanding sophomore seasons sized up their options and have already committed to playing lacrosse at a couple of prominent New York colleges once they graduate. Chiefs’ attackmen Griffin Konen and Paul Dilena have verbally agreed to play at Binghamton University and Marist College, respectively. The Binghamton Bearcats coveted Konen for his unselfish play, outstanding field vision and high lacrosse IQ. Dilena, also a standout player with the Nassau County Class A champions, made a verbal commitment to play for Marist College’s Red Foxes. College officials said Dilena, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound righty dodger, uses his size to create scoring opportunities.
