Portledge School Varsity Girls Win Basketball Invitational

The Portledge School Varsity Girls Basketball team recently won the 2011 Portledge Basketball Invitational.  The Lady Panthers defeated Martin Luther 56 - 40 in the championship game on Saturday, Dec. 10. Ceci Mulry of Glen Cove and Tamara Simpson of North Babylon were selected to the All-Tournament team. Ms. Simpson was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.  This is the girls’ first championship in this event since 1996.

Massapequa resident Carley Tsiames also starred for The Lady Panthers. The team is coached by faculty members Skip Amadio, John Greene and Francesca Maiello.
