The third-seeded Farmingdale State women’s tennis team fell 5-3 in a hard fought match against the Golden Eagles in a recent Skyline Semifinal match held at St. John the Baptist High School. The Rams season ends with an 8-5 record, while St. Joseph’s (10-3) moved onto the Skyline Championship match against top-seed Mount Saint Mary.
Two Massapequa residents continued to star for the Lady Rams. Freshman Alexandra Bentz was a factor in two of Farmingdale State’s three points, while freshman Jessica Sickles scored a point for the Rams in the #1 spot with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
Bentz remains a perfect 13-0 for the season at second singles, the first-ever undefeated season in Rams history. Sickles finishes the year 10-3 overall at first singles. Bentz and Liliya Dyakiv of Shirley won 8-4 at second doubles.
