Friday, 16 September 2011 00:00I am writing in regards to the article “Saladino Unveils Task Force on Substance Abuse” that appeared in the Friday, Aug. 19 edition of The Massapequan Observer. As the Clinical Director at YES Community Counseling Center, I greatly appreciate your continued coverage of the many issues surrounding drug use and addiction that continue to devastate our local communities and the resources that are available to address this epidemic.
I would like to stress the importance of directing our community members to resources available in their own neighborhoods. As you may be aware, YES Community Counseling Center is the only New York State licensed provider in our community and is recognized for its reputation to treat adolescents and adults. The agency provides comprehensive treatment services to those who are affected by substance abuse and their family members. In addition, this agency offers specialized/research- based treatment services to both adolescents and young adults, who we know are largely impacted and vulnerable. As a multi-funded agency, we offer an array of many treatment and prevention services to those not only impacted by addiction, but abuse/domestic violence, family issues, socialization difficulties, legal involvement, bereavement and mental health concerns.
To learn more about the services and programs we serve, readers can visit our website at yesccc.org or call us at 799-3203.
