Vincent Leon, 76 (formerly of Massapequa) currently living in Ocala, FL with his wife of 40 years, Madeline, died on May 8, 2009.
Vincent was the president of the Kiwanis Club of the Massapequas when it was decided that the club would build the Kiwanis Fishing Bridge in the Massapequa Preserve. He was the president of the former family-owned I Leon Company that manufactured beauty supplies that was located at Merrick Road and Seaford Avenue.
While holding the office of President of Kiwanis, the club held several fundraising events to benefit the children of the Massapequas. One huge event Vincent was proud of was the production of Auntie Mame that played for two nights to a packed Massapequa High School Auditorium audience.
In later years 1973-1978 Vincent and Maddy operated the former Gallery Pub in Farmingdale.
Vincent leaves behind his wife Maddy, three daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
