More roadwork is coming to residential areas of Massapequa. At its June 28 meeting, the board of trustees approved the establishment of a Special Assessment District for Third Avenue between Clark Boulevard and Front Street.
The district is being established in connection with the 2010 Road Requirements Contract. It will allow the village to send out letters to residents of that area, notifying them of the costs for curb repair, sidewalk repair, and other street work, if such repair work is necessary.
At the June 14 meeting, the BOT voted to authorize Mayor James Altadonna to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Civil Service Employees Association for the village’s union contract, one that will last for a one-year period, from June 2010 to May 2011.
The BOT also authorized the village cleanup of a lot at 255 Harbor Lane, one that is being done pursuant to Section 94.5 of the Code of Ordinances. The village will also assess the costs against the property for the cleanup work.
