The later ordinance has already been approved; BOT members, at its Monday, July 9 meeting will simply formalize the agreement.
At the July 9 meeting, the BOT, in addition, will consider the establishment of a special assessment district in connection with the 2010 Road Requirements Contract, specifically to do road reconstruction on New York Avenue between Avoca Avenue and Brendan Avenue.
On the medical front, the BOT authorized Mayor James Altadonna, Jr. to execute an agreement with Dr. Mark Safford for the village’s Automated Defibrillation Program (ADP). The village currently has such a program at its village hall, its senior centers and its parks. The agreement will allow Dr. Safford to certify ADP equipment in all the village facilities where they are currently being used.
Also at the meeting, there were more reminders of Massapequa’s dominance of sports, this time in New York State. BOT members offered congratulations to members of two female soccer teams for winning New York State titles: The Cosmos U11 squad and the Crush U14 team. Both represented the Massapequa Soccer Club.
The next meeting of the BOT will be on Monday, July 9 at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, 151 Front St.
