John McDonald, a junior from the Massapequa UFSD, is studying art at the Long Island High School for the Arts and has been selected by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) as the second place junior winner of The SCAD Challenge: Toy Design Competition.
A first-year student at LIHSA, John entered the competition as part of his course work in Rae Raff’s art class. As a winner, he will receive a full scholarship to the SCAD Summer Seminar, including accommodations as well as a $100 gift certificate. His winning design is an adorable stuffed animal that sports curly white fur and blue detailing.
The SCAD Challenge is a Toy Design Competition offers students the opportunity to design and produce an original plush toy, such as a stuffed animal or puppet, for a specific age group.
