Massapequa High School freshmen in Denise Baldinger’s health classes had fun teaching the importance of eating right and staying healthy when students from Lockhart and Birch Lane Elementary Schools visited for an interactive lesson on May 20. After weeks researching health, nutrition, and wellness, the freshmen created original board games to teach kindergarteners and third-graders how to lead healthy lives. The high schoolers encouraged making good choices as the youngsters answered questions and advanced around game boards. Each game contained nutrition facts and promoted topics such as the new food plate for healthy eating.
