Art Workshop

The Massapequa Public Library presents a workshop for painters with some prior experience using oils and acrylics. Beginners can paint using oil pastels, regular pastels or colored pencils. Mixed media also included for consideraton. Workshop may include portraits, still life, teacher’s reference materials or photographs. Class size is limited, $55 due at registration. The Roller Rebels are back in the rink, this time squaring off against the Garden state Roller Girls at Skate Safe, 182 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Rd. in Old Bethpage. Spring Shopping Boutique

The American Legion in Massapequa, 66 Veterans Blvd., along with Enchanting Events of NY, will host a spring shopping fair Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A portion of all proceeds from the event will benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Suggested admission is $5 per person. All admission proceeds will be given to charity. The shopping boutique will feature more than 40 vendors offering local merchandise from jewelry to clothing to desserts to candles. The event is not only about shopping as it will include special performances by local studios as well as surprise character appearances throughout the day. The Massapequa Public Library presents instructor Marguerite A. Snider, a Massapequa artist and teacher, who will teach a unique, quick way to color Easter eggs from 2 to 4 p.m. Snider will show how to decorate 12 eggs in 12 minutes.
