Stanley Drucker, a Massapequa resident who is principal clarinet for the New York Philharmonic, is ending a 60-year career as a member of the orchestra.
On Friday, June 19 at 8:00 p.m., Drucker, along with conductor Lorin Maazel, will give a farewell concert at the Tilles Center.
Drucker will perform Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.4, plus Copland's Clarinet Concerto. Maazel will perform Ravel's Bolero.
Prior to the concert, at 7:00 p.m., the evening will also feature a conversation with Stanley Drucker at the Hillwood Recital Hall.
Drucker will look back on his amazing 60-year career as principal clarinet for the New York Philharmonic, where he holds The Edna and W. Van Alan Clark Chair.
Cost for the event is _$110, $82, $52 (seniors, $107, $79, $49).
