The Robbery Squad reports the arrest of two defendants, on April 7, for a series of bank robberies in Nassau County that began on March 21. The robberies included locations in Massapequa and Wantagh.
Defendants David Graf, age 29, of Seaford and Lauren Becker, 26, of Commack, were located and arrested by Bureau of Special Operations Officers in Bellmore and Copiague, at 11:05 a.m. and 12:10 p.m., respectively. Graf is charged with six counts of Robbery 3rd and one count of Attempted Robbery 3rd in connection with the following:
March 21: Washington Mutual, 3345 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown (Attempt);
March 21: Citibank, 670 Merrick Ave., East Meadow;
March 23: Chase Bank, 1100 Old Country Road, Plainview;
March 26: Capital One, 1145 Willis Ave., Albertson;
March 29: TD Bank, 4126 Merrick Road, Massapequa;
March 30: TD Bank, 516 Central Ave., Cedarhurst;
April 2: Citibank, 3295 Sunrise Highway, Wantagh.
Graf has also been charged with four counts of Forgery 2nd Degree, in connection with a 7th Squad investigation, for allegedly stealing and cashing his grandmother's personal checks, between Feb. 21-Feb. 27 causing loss to the 90-year-old victim of $1,260.
Defendant Lauren Becker is charged with two counts of Robbery 3rd and one count of Attempted Robbery 3rd in connection with the robberies that occurred on March 21 (Attempt - Levittown), March 23 (Plainview) and March 29 (Massapequa). Becker allegedly acted in consort by driving Graf to and from the robberies.
Both defendants were arraigned on April 8 in First District Court, Hempstead.
