Everyone in the Massapequa Park Merchants Association extends their heartfelt thanks for all the patronage received by their stores and offices during the holiday season. Local shopping is so important and is the staff of life that keeps our village stores in business. Please come by during February, shop the sales and say hello to the hometown storekeepers and professionals who are here to serve you. You know that we appreciate your business.

Our Association tries to perpetuate the spirit of friendliness and a sense of commitment to everyone who shops in our town. Thank goodness you do not see empty stores in our Village. Our members are dedicated to not only caring for their clients and customers, but are dedicated to giving back to the community that we work in.

By keeping our member stores and professionals in business, they are able to join the Massapequa Park Merchants Association. Here are just some of the ways our Association helps our community - we give scholarships not only to the local high school, but we give "book money" to the employees of our member stores who are attending college and also working in order to make additional income. We support Massapequa Cares and give a large donation for veterans' supplies and clothing. We donate to the fire department; we donate money to the Village for beautification projects; hundreds of children come to Park Blvd., where it is safe for the children on Halloween and our storekeepers give out thousands of pieces of candy to our kids; and our August Street Festival is the talk of the town. Santa does a great job at holiday time as does our Easter Bunny in the spring. These are but a few of the things we do to benefit our local community.

So, in closing, help our Village to thrive by shopping locally. Please support all of our local attorneys, doctors, insurance agents, accountants, investment firms, dentists and all the other professionals in our Village who count on your support. Everyone needs your help in these tough economic times.
