At the Town of Oyster Bay's Feb. 3 meeting, several items concerning the Village of Massapequa Park were debated on and approved by the town board.
The board approved a request for a special use permit to use property in an industrial district for retail stores. More specifically, it approved an application by Waterworld Realty LCC, to receive such a permit, plus a Modification of Restrictive Covenants to use its existing building on 40 Carmans Road for the enlargement of a retail store. Waterworld plans to expand its existing 8,634-sq. ft. building with a 3,207-sq. ft. addition for continued use as a retail store.
The board also approved a building contract, one that will be used to make pool complex improvements at Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa. Similar improvements will also take place at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Park.
In addition, the board authorized the acceptance of a contract, one designed for the installation of floating docks and utility upgrades to Tobay Beach Marina, located in Massapequa.
