Ladies, gentleman, and children of all ages were recently entertained in the gymnasium at Schwarting Elementary School in the Plainedge School District when the school's kindergarten students took them on a journey under the big top and performed a variety of circus tricks.
Prior to the big event, during their physical education and enrichment classes the students had learned about the different aspects of a circus, including how to walk on a tightrope and balance a plate on a stick, and fashioned creative hats to wear during the show.
Before an audience filled with the parents and family members, the students each took to the stage and performed several of the tricks that they had learned. From start to finish the attendees were enthralled with the performers and impressed with the new skills they had learned.
