The Seventh, Fourth and Sixth Squads report the details of an arrest made on July 18 at 1:24 p.m. in connection with multiple robberies that occurred over the last month within those Precincts.
According to detectives, defendant Brian Nestor, 21, of Greenlawn, was arrested after forcibly stealing a pocketbook from the arm of a 46-year-old female victim outside the Massapequa Park Post office, 1007 Park Boulevard at 1:15 p.m. on July 18. The victim was knocked to the ground and dragged during the course of the robbery, before Nestor could break free and attempt to flee. Witnesses to the robbery tackled Nestor and detained him until the arrival of 7th Precinct Police officers, who placed him under arrest.
During the course of investigation, it was determined that the defendant had committed the following, similar pocketbook robberies:
July 9 - 10 p.m. - Plandome Road, Manhasset;
July 10 - 12:19 p.m. - 200 N. Manhattan Avenue, N. Massapequa;
July 10 - 4:40 p.m. - 1800 Rockaway Avenue, Hewlett.
In no case did a victim request medical attention for injuries sustained during a robbery.
Nestor is charged with five counts of Robbery 2nd and was arraigned on July 19 in First District Court, Hempstead.
