Robert E. Auletta, Massapequa, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery of the U.S. Army during The University of Scranton's Army ROTC Commissioning Ceremony. He was one of 11 graduates commissioned as part of commencement exercises for the undergraduate Class of 2008.

Auletta earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from The University of Scranton.
