The Robbery Squad reports the details of a bank robbery that occurred on Wednesday, May 28 at 10:35 a.m. in Massapequa.

According to detectives, a white male subject, 5'5", 40 years, medium build, wearing a dark baseball cap, white jacket, entered the Washington Mutual Bank located at 350 Sunrise Mall and while displaying a silver handgun demanded money from a teller.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, the subject, detectives added, fled on foot into the Sunrise Mall and then into the parking lot on the south side of the mall. There were seven employees and one customer present during the robbery with no reported injuries, detectives said.
