Junior Danielle Torre of Massapequa scored three goals and added two assists to lead visiting Cortland to a SUNYAC win against Oneonta State 13-7. The win for the Cortland (10-5/6-0) moves them to within one win of clinching the regular season title in the conference with two games remaining. The loss for Oneonta (9-6/3-3) puts them in a logjam in the middle of the conference standings as they try to secure a playoff spot with two to play.

The game actually started well for the hosts as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 16 minutes of play on three unassisted goals. Freshman Katie O'Toole got things started in the ninth minute and was followed by senior Kristin O'Leary and sophomore Michelle Symons.

From that point on it was all Cortland as they quickly erased the three-goal deficit and turned it into a 6-3 lead at halftime. Torre led the way with a pair of goals and two assists to lead Cortland to its six unanswered goals.

Cortland continued its run to start the second half as they added three more goals to its lead in the first eight minutes. Three unassisted goals by seniors Rachel Cornwell and Jen Pacifico and sophomore Nick Mahoney gave Cortland a 9-3 lead.

O'Leary notched her second goal of the game to stop the run on an unassisted goal just under 10 minutes into the second half to make the score 9-4.

The final seven goals of the contest were all scored in the final eight minutes of the game, including four by Cortland for the final margin of victory. Oneonta scored back-to-back goals within 30 seconds of each other to cut Cortland's lead to 11-7 with just over one minute to go, but the rival Red Dragons added a pair in the final minute of play for the 13-7 victory.
