Justine Rother scored five goals and assisted on another to lead Farmingdale State College to a 19-7 victory over Western Connecticut State University in a non-league women's lacrosse match at the WestConn Athletic Complex.
Theresa Rokee and Heather Andersen added four goals apiece for the Rams, now 1-1 on the season. Rokee led all players with seven total points as she dished out three assists on the afternoon as well. Jennifer Jung and Alecia Fuschetto added three and two markers, respectively, for the winners.
Caitlin Everin, Kara Kruczkiewicza and Ashley Caruso each had two goals to head WestConn, now 0-2.
Janine Forman of North Massapequa made eight saves for the Rams while Angela Vargas turned away 11 shots for the Colonials.
WestConn hits the road for its next four games beginning with a meeting with the Cougars at Kean University this Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Colonials will face Salve Regina University during spring break in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, March 19.
