The following is a summary of actions taken by the Massapequa Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 24.

The board of education began by recognizing the efforts of NYSSMA All State Students, Lego League Champions and students conducting outstanding community service.

The board of education received the following reports:

• Superintendent's Report

• Update on Berner Robotics program and Lego Robotics Club

• GPA - Update

The Board of Education acted on a variety of new business, including resolutions to:

• Adopt 2008-09 School Calendar which is available on district website.

• Provide the benefits of a 2008 local retirement incentive to clerical employees.
