The following is a summary of actions taken by the Massapequa Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 10.

The board of education began by recognizing the efforts of advanced placement students, field hockey team, girls volleyball, girls soccer and boys soccer teams.

The board of education received the following reports:

• Long Range Financial Plan - Mr. Adcock

The Board of Education acted on a variety of new business, including resolutions to:

• Approve the Memorandum of Agreement between the Massapequa Board of Education and the Association of Massapequa Administrators for the period July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2011.

• Accept a donation from the Shoreville Park Civic Association of $2,500 for the purpose of supplementing the Fairfield broadcast lab equipment and the purchase of a SMARTBoard for the Fairfield Library.

• Discuss proposed revision to BOE Policy 5460 - Suspected Child Abuse and Maltreatment

• Approve the agreement with the Village of Massapequa Park to cooperatively share responsibility for two speed signs on Merrick Road near Massapequa High School and authorizes the board president to execute same.
