On November 10, Massapequa's Combat Judo Team competed in the Warrior Challenge at the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham, NY.

This mixed martial arts event featured some of the area's top amateur MMA fighters. Team captain Mark Staniszewski defeated his opponent by submission to win the Heavyweight Championship title.

Oswaldo Rivera Jr. defeated his opponent by decision to capture the Welterweight Championship and was named fighter of the night by judging officials.

Mike McDermott, James Mayors, and William Cicerillo fought competitively to help Combat Judo take home one of three team trophies.
