Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Massapequa on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 12:01 a.m.

Detectives report that a black male subject (mid-20s, 5'10", stocky build, clean shaven, corn rows, wearing blue shorts, orange T-shirt, white sneakers) entered Pathmark Grocery Store, 941 Carmans Road and confronted a female victim (cashier). The subject, detectives said, produced a knife and held it to the victim's throat. The subject then forcibly removed the till from the victim's hand, pushed her and fled the store with the till (containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency) detectives added. A store detective chased after the subject. The subject dropped the till and fled eastbound into Suffolk County.

There were no injuries reported. The loss is not known at this time.
