Christine P'Simer was recently appointed superintendent of the Plainedge School District. Ms. P'Simer has been involved with the Plainedge School District for 22 years now and has worked her way up to the position of superintendent.

"As much as I am going to miss this fine school district, I know that it is in good hands with Ms. P'Simer," said Dr. John A. Richman, superintendent of Plainedge Public Schools. "She was an outstanding principal and an equally terrific assistant superintendent. I am fully confident that she will do a superb job as superintendent."

After receiving her degree in educational administration from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus in 1985, Ms. P'Simer was offered a position in the Plainedge Public School District, teaching mathematics and computer science.

For 10 years she directed the Plainedge Teacher Center, a professional development center for teachers. In 1996, she was selected to become the director of staff development of Plainedge Public Schools.

Continuing to progress up the ladder of employment, Ms. P'Simer was appointed the principal of Packard Middle School in 1997. Four years subsequent to receiving her position of principal, she became the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

Ms. P'Simer's interest and involvement within education and scholastic activity began during her high school years at St. Anthony in a suburb of Trenton, NJ, playing on the school's basketball and softball teams and getting herself immersed in a number of co-curricular activities.

Her involvement continued with her into college where she was a member of the New Jersey Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Mathematics Honor Society at the College of New Jersey.

"I am excited and honored to become the superintendent of this wonderful school district and look forward to the continuance of its successes," said Ms. P'Simer.
