On Sunday, April 22, Massapequa resident and director of the American Chamber Ensemble Naomi Drucker, along with co-director Blanche Abram of Baldwin, received the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Long Island Sound Award at their concert at Hofstra University's Monroe Lecture Center Theater.

January 2007 marked the 42nd anniversary of the organization. With a strong sense of place, they have performed, since 1978, an annual concert series at Hofstra, where they are in residence and have presented their Festival of Long Island Composers since 1980. They've also performed at many Long Island libraries, houses of worship, and for civic organizations. ACE presents imaginative concerts for clarinet and/or piano with strings, woodwinds and voice to an audience eager to hear music in a local venue. They have a superb reputation and loyal audience for their concerts, recordings, commissions, world premieres and support of American music and Long Island composers.
