More than 250 Nassau County jurors recently received a special treat from the Girl Scouts of America.

As part of Thinking Day, a day for Girl Scouts to contemplate the values of scouting, Girl Scouts from several troops met at the Supreme Court to show their appreciation to jurors by giving each juror a box of their world famous cookies. It was the Scouts' way of thanking jurors for taking time from their busy schedules to serve as jurors.

On behalf of the Nassau Court System, Supreme Court Justice Geoffrey J. O'Connell and Nassau County Commissioner of Jurors Thomas DeVivo, Esq., himself a resident of Massapequa, thanked the group and presented each scout with a personalized Certificate of Appreciation.

"The Girl Scouts of America embody the values and principles that make our society great," said Justice O'Connell. "Their commitment to the community is commendable and sets an extraordinary example."
