The holiday season for the children who attend the Hagedorn Little Village School in North Massapequa, began with a Thanksgiving lunch. The weeks that follow take on the holiday excitement. Classrooms and common areas begin to take on a festive tone as decorations are hung with the utmost care. Children from each class work on the creation of individual ornaments for display on the Christmas tree in the school's main lobby and, many Santas and their helpers from local organizations visit Little Villagers bringing gifts and good cheer. During the final week of the holiday season, grandparents of a Little Villager, Sam and Joan Hyndman, dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, took their place in the school library for the Little Villagers class visits and to have their picture taken with them.
