Roslyn Savings Bank, a division of New York Community Bank, ended its weeklong Community Appreciation celebration in Massapequa with a Toys for Tots Drive resulting in the donation of over 300 toys.
In return, each person who donated a toy received a gift from the bank including paper shredders, DVD players, picnic baskets, cargo coolers and Corning Ware.
Santa Claus was on hand to receive the donated toys as well as distribute the bank gifts to lucky visitors. Radio station - KJOY 98.3 - added to the festivities with a live radio remote featuring morning personality, Kim Berk.
The bank also offered special product packages to prospective customers including high rates on CDs and free checking. In addition, a Community Appreciation Sweepstakes was conducted at 57 Long Island branches. One winner from each branch took home a $100 NYCB Visa Gift Card and the Grand Prize, a $1,000 NYCB Visa Gift Card, was won by Terry Skoff of St. James.
According to Massapequa branch manager, Georgeann Soper, "This is the second year we've conducted a Toys for Tots Drive and, once again, the response from our neighbors has been heartwarming. It's a wonderful cause and a great way to kick off the holiday season."
