It's easy to get inspired by beautiful light displays on the windows of people's homes this time of the year.
Laura Probst and her family of Massapequa Park are not only well-known for their artistic flair for decorating their home in holiday style, they also raise funds during the festive Christmas holiday season for a very good cause: The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Every inch of the Probst home displays nearly 16,000 dazzling lights and sports figurines such as a skiing polar bear, igloo with penguins, candy cane arch and an animated sea lion, just to name a few.
Just as they did last year, the Probst family is collecting household items, monetary donations and "wish list" items to help bring sunshine, laughter and comfort to families at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, not only during the holidays but throughout the year.
A collection box for donations will be placed in front of the Probst home at 122 Atlantic Avenue in Massapequa Park. Donations will be collected now through December 31.
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a 'home-away-from home' for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located on the campus of Schneider Children's Hospital, the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment.
