There was no better way to follow-up Kids' Opening Night than with Islanders Literacy Day. Islanders players were scattered all across Long Island, visiting schools Tuesday morning to promote literacy, answer questions and sign autographs.

Over in Massapequa at McKenna Elementary School, Chris Campoli and Arron Asham were greeted by 600 hundred students from grades K through 6.

The students filled the school auditorium donning their Islanders jerseys, hats, and sweatshirts. The students were read a short story and then the question and answer session started.

Before the autograph session started both players made sure to tell the students that it is important to keep up with their schoolwork and to continue to read.
