The Massapequa Chiefs rebounded from a disappointing defeat to East Meadow to outscore Uniondale, 31-14 in a home game played last Saturday.

The win allowed Massapequa to improve to 3-3 in Conference I play.

The Chiefs won with a balanced scoring attack that featured scores through the run and in the air.

John Pesce led the ground attack, putting the Chiefs on the board in the first quarter with a 21-yard run.

Tied 14-14 going into the final frame, the Chiefs put the game away with two touchdowns and a field goal, while holding Uniondale scoreless.

Stephen Bentz's 27-yard touchdown pass to Dan Gill gave the Chiefs the lead for good. That was followed by a 26-yard touchdown run by Pesce and a 31-yard field goal by Rob Nozworthy.

In all, Bentz completed 16 of 21 passes, including a 74-yard scoring strike to Matt Hurst. Starring on defense for the Chiefs was Brian Lally and Jay Manfre.
